Hunter AHP Resourcing have an amazing locum opportunity for a Band 6 Pharmacist to join an NHS hospital service in London.

This will be an Aseptic based role, however full training will be provided!

Our client is currently seeking a Pharmacist to join their hospital team on an immediate basis, working 5 days per week, for at least 6 months.

Operational

  1. To assist the principal production technicians and QA staff to ensure all products are prepared in accordance to current guidelines.

 

  1. To ensure that all activities undertaken within the units meet current legislation such as GMP/GDP, GCP, Health & Safety, COSSH, and that all work documentation and procedures meet these regulations.

 

  1. To be responsible for ensuring that all requirements of the pharmaceutical quality system and validation plan are fully completed and documented at the specified time and that all staffs involved in these activities are suitably trained.

 

  1. To communicate effectively complex technical and medicine information within the pharmacy and wider multidisciplinary team.

 

  1. To communicate effectively medicine information to patient and patient representatives.

 

  1. To ensure that all action plans drawn up in the event of any out of specification result or deviation, follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and are completed and fully documented.

CIVAS/TPN

 

  1. To undertake worksheet generation and final dispensing / production checks on adult, neonatal and paediatric PN, IV additives (CIVAS), clinical trial products, and aseptically prepared batches.

 

  1. To report any deficiencies to the Production Manager and Chief Technicians.

 

  1. To provide expert pharmaceutical advice to the Nutrition Team (adult and Neonatal) by attending nutrition rounds & meetings, and to be available for advice and consultation at other times.

Cytos

 

  1. To undertake worksheet generation and final dispensing / production checks on adult and paediatric, clinical trial and non-trial, aseptically prepared cytotoxic products.

 

  1. To report any deficiencies to the Production Manager and Chief Technicians.

 

  1. To assist the Principal Pharmacists Haematology and Oncology in the provision of a ward pharmacy service to the cancer outpatient clinics.

 

This locum role is due to start immediately, with a working pattern of Monday – Friday, 5 days per week, 9am – 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

The contract lengths of this role will be for at least 6 months, with a high likelihood for this to extend. There may possibly be the option to take on a permanent position at the end of the contract here for the right applicant.

The service is based in London with accessible public transport links, such as a train station near to the hospital with a short walk to the bus station, where frequent bus services run to and from the hospital. The hospital also has parking on site.

Pay rate for this role will depend on your prior experience. Hospital experience is necessary for this position.

  • £22-30 per hour (depending on banding)

  • Start date: May 2021
  • Duration: 6 months – possibility to take permanent contract at end of role
  • 5 days per week, no weekend working available. Possibility that the service may consider part time working. 9am-5pm.
