Hunter AHP Resourcing have an amazing locum opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join a vaccine hub ran by a NHS hospital service in South East London.

Our client is currently seeking a Band 4/5 Pharmacy Technician to join their hospital team on an immediate basis, working 5 days per week, for at least 3 months.

The clinical duties involved will be:

  • Ordering and receiving COVID-19 vaccines
  • Maintaining the pharmacy system (ascribe) with issues of COVID-19 vaccines
  • Monitoring temperatures
  • Investigating temperature excursions
  • Reporting stockholding of COVID-19 vaccines and consumables for all of our MVC onto the national reporting database
  • Supply COVID-19 vaccines to the MVC
  • Reporting any waste doses onto the national reporting database
  • Reporting any defected vials to the MHRA and/or manufacturer and internal reporting
  • Updating SOPs as and when required
  • Organising and supporting any mutual aid transfers between Trusts
  • Escalating COVID-19 vaccines allocations as and when required  
  • Supporting the Principal Technician for Contracts, Procurement and Vaccines in vaccine and stores related tasks
  • Supporting the Deputy Chief Pharmacist and Principal Pharmacist for Emergency Preparedness

This locum role is due to start immediately, with a a flexible working patter of Monday – Sunday.

The contract lengths of this role will be for at least 3 months, with a high likelihood for this to extend. There may possibly be the option to take on a permanent position at the end of the contract here for the right applicant.

The service is based in The South East London with accessible public transport links, such as a train station near to the hospital with a short walk to the bus station, where frequent bus services run to and from the hospital. The hospital also has parking on site.

Pay rate for this role will depend on your prior experience. Hospital experience is necessary for this position.

–          £15-21 per hour (depending on banding)

–          NHS Hospital Service

–          Start date: Feb 2021

–          Duration: 3 – 4 months – possibility to take permanent contract at end of role

–          5 days per week, no weekend working available. Possibility that the service may consider part time working. 9am-5pm.
